I have no tools or little mechanic knowledge but join web groups and ask questions.. There were responses like this

"I'd just find and repair the broken wires, I'd never replace an entire harness for a few broken wires. Not to mention $500+ just for the harness

Dealerships usually refuse to repair harnesses, they will only replace them so you would need to go to an independent shop or do it yourself to go that route."
Is it something that can be fixed that the toy dealer just won't fool with .. I looked under it

Mine had the frame replaced and very few miles on it.. No rusty stuff to deal with. Had the frame replaced at 159,530 miles last check 164,715 miles .. about 5000 miles since the frame was replaced and I do not drive on salted or snowy roads if my liberty is working..  Should be very little rust to deal with they replaced clips .. n connections as well as the frame.

Looking at another  toy with the bed off..

Removing the bed great video

1:01 the back here your taillights you can

1:05 remove those with two 10 millimeter

1:08 bolts of course mine broke off here and

1:11 and there then what you can do is leave

1:15 all the light bulbs in the housing and

1:18 you can just unclip this right here

1:21 there's a little depressed lever on the

1:23 backside that you can press and pop that

1:25 out then you can take that harness and

1:30 recess that down through this hole and

1:32 you can see another plastic clip there

1:35 holding it to the bed so you want to

1:37 remove that so do that on both sides of

1:40 the truck underneath the bed there is

1:44 more of those clips there - white clips

1:48 and they're probably right about here

1:50 underneath the bed and over on this side

1:52 so you want to depress the little clips

1:55 and the harness will drop down a little

1:57 and at that point you can get your t-55

2:02 Torx bit I recommend a 1/2 inch drive

2:07 this is a 3/8 that's all the autoStore

2:09 head so you 2:12 go through and remove those it's pretty

2:15 heavy-duty bolts there hopefully they

2:17 don't break on you but so six bolts

2:20 throughout the bed you can probably

2:23 remove the tailgate to take some weight

2:25 out but it's actually a pretty light bed

2:28 to remove all right thanks for watching

2:33 and check out archive garage comm for

2:36 more on that shock relocation

From that group.. tacomaworld they also pasted this for me, think it must be my truck.

Pics of every visible wire under the truck

Most was covered with the spiral plastic stuff

Exhaust pipe might need replaced on the end but it was the only thing that looked like a boo boo 2 me.

The wires in back are mostly concealed.

.The truck stays in the carport if there is snow or salt on the road.

Had the frame replaced at 159,530 miles.. today. 5000 miles since the frame was replaced.

Toy Dealer "FOUND WIRING UNDER FRONT SEAT IS EAT UP. TO START WITH AND ONLY TO START WIRING HARNESS WILL NEED REPLACED,"

If this is the eat up wiring under the seat mentioned I could not see it, unless there is wiring under the carpet?

By the transmission a bit of wire is visible.

.A bit of wire is visible here, opposite to the sticker

This part of the bed by my thumb rusty

The new frame sticker still there not dirty or warn yet.

Better view of the wire not completely covered by the plastic stuff.

The more I look the more I find so far the wiring might need to be replaced

*  looking at the connection under the seat drivers side only? 4 bolts and unplug the wires If the wires connected to the seat r bad, then only those need to be dealt with first?

If the wire is needed this says Manufacturer Toyota This genuine Toyota part is guaranteed by Toyota's factory warranty. $518
 Other places well over $700 -$800 * why $300 less ..

The frame has about 5000 miles since it was replaced and never been on salty roads  but taking pics of everything I could see this bed support seems to be rusty if so
*  replacing the pieces that $$$ *

Couldn't see any bad spots but what is the odds the bed its self is rusty?

Inspect the bed and components for damage first
Thinking if the bed might need to come off to do the wires an inspection of the bed components done first n all done at the same time?
